BACKGROUND: Dental pulp damage can lead to loss of tooth vitality. Dental pulp stem cells may help regenerate pulp tissue because they can self-renew, differentiate into multiple cell types, and support immune regulation.

METHODS: The authors reviewed current progress in dental pulp regeneration, including stem cell biology, immunomodulation, allogeneic transplantation, and regenerative endodontic approaches.

RESULTS: Studies showed that dental pulp stem cells may support pulp regeneration by promoting tissue repair, vascularization, immune regulation, and dentin-pulp complex formation.

CONCLUSIONS: This review showed that dental pulp stem cells have strong potential for future pulp regeneration therapies. Continued research may help advance their use in regenerative endodontics.
