BACKGROUND: Bone regeneration remains a major challenge in regenerative medicine. Human dental pulp stem cells combined with scaffolds may provide a promising strategy for bone repair.

METHODS: The authors conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of animal studies evaluating human dental pulp stem cells with scaffold materials for bone regeneration.

RESULTS: The review found that human dental pulp stem cells combined with scaffolds improved bone regeneration outcomes in animal models compared with controls.

CONCLUSIONS: This study showed that scaffold-supported dental pulp stem cells may enhance bone regeneration. Future studies may help advance this strategy toward clinical bone repair applications.
