BACKGROUND:Facial wrinkles develop as collagen production declines and skin elasticity decreases with age. Conditioned media derived from dental pulp stem cells (DPSCs) contains numerous growth factors, cytokines, and bioactive molecules that may stimulate skin regeneration, collagen synthesis, and tissue repair. Researchers investigated whether a topical gel containing DPSC-conditioned medium could improve facial wrinkles without invasive cosmetic procedures.

METHODS:This randomized, single-blinded clinical trial enrolled 12 healthy adult women. Participants applied an all-in-one gel containing immortalized dental pulp stem cell-conditioned culture medium and peptide-based ingredients to one side of the face for four consecutive weeks, while the opposite side received no treatment and served as an internal control. Researchers evaluated wrinkle severity before and after treatment using standardized wrinkle grading.

RESULTS:The study evaluated changes in wrinkle grade following four weeks of topical treatment. Researchers compared wrinkle severity between the treated and untreated sides of the face to determine the anti-aging effects of the DPSC-conditioned medium gel. The registry indicates that study results are available, although detailed outcome data have not been published within the registry record.

CONCLUSIONS:This clinical trial investigated the use of dental pulp stem cell-conditioned medium as a topical regenerative therapy for facial wrinkles. If validated in larger studies, DPSC-derived skin care products may provide a non-invasive approach to improving skin appearance by harnessing the regenerative factors naturally secreted by dental pulp stem cells.
